A 29-year-old woman presents with concern that a mandibular incisor feels slightly mobile when chewing. She has no pain, probing depths of 2–3 mm, no bleeding on probing, intact lamina dura, and no radiographic bone loss. The tooth has physiologic mobility only. Which periodontal component primarily permits this normal functional mobility and distributes occlusal forces to bone?
The periodontal ligament (D) is a vascular, cellular connective tissue with principal fibers and ground substance that suspends the tooth, allows physiologic mobility, and transmits occlusal load to alveolar bone. Attached gingiva (B) protects against friction but does not suspend the tooth. Cementum (A) is essential for fiber insertion, yet by itself is not the shock-absorbing ligament space. Junctional epithelium (C) seals the sulcus and is not a force-distribution apparatus.

The guided drills were the difference. I stopped re-reading notes and started doing timed sets. My scores jumped in two weeks.
The explanations are crisp and the pacing is perfect. I used the active recall prompts every night and it stuck.
I loved the frameworks and examples. Prioritization became obvious, and the drills fixed my weak spots fast.
