A patient with a newly reported colon tumor is anxious after hearing the provider say, “poorly differentiated malignant cells with a high growth fraction.” Vital signs are stable, pain is 2/10, and the patient asks the oncology nurse, “Does that mean it will spread and need stronger treatment?” What is the nurse’s best response?
B is correct: using the nursing process, the RN first addresses anxiety and knowledge deficit with accurate, scope-appropriate teaching. Malignant tumors can invade and metastasize; poor differentiation and high growth fraction often correlate with more aggressive behavior and treatment planning. A gives unsafe reassurance and reverses the meaning of poor differentiation. C documents but misses the priority teaching need. D is tempting because providers determine staging and treatment, but the RN may explain standard terminology and escalate remaining questions.

The guided drills were the difference. I stopped re-reading notes and started doing timed sets. My scores jumped in two weeks.
The explanations are crisp and the pacing is perfect. I used the active recall prompts every night and it stuck.
I loved the frameworks and examples. Prioritization became obvious, and the drills fixed my weak spots fast.
