A 46-year-old patient presents to a chiropractic clinic with acute low back pain after lifting. During the history, the patient reports new urinary retention, saddle numbness, and bilateral leg weakness that began this morning. The patient asks if a lumbar adjustment can be done today for pain relief. What is the safest entry-level chiropractic action?
C is unsafe: urinary retention, saddle anesthesia, and bilateral weakness suggest possible cauda equina syndrome, making manipulation inappropriate. A is correct: the mechanism is neurologic compression requiring urgent medical evaluation; the chiropractor’s role is recognition, withholding contraindicated care, referral, and documentation. B is tempting for pain but prescribing medication is outside entry-level chiropractic scope and delays emergency care. D is still treatment before ruling out serious neurologic pathology; low-force technique does not remove the contraindication.

The guided drills were the difference. I stopped re-reading notes and started doing timed sets. My scores jumped in two weeks.
The explanations are crisp and the pacing is perfect. I used the active recall prompts every night and it stuck.
I loved the frameworks and examples. Prioritization became obvious, and the drills fixed my weak spots fast.
