A client in cessation counseling says their clinician prescribed bupropion SR 150 mg by mouth twice daily and nicotine patch 21 mg transdermal daily. Today, the client reports starting phenelzine 15 mg by mouth three times daily from another clinician. As a tobacco treatment specialist, which response best fits your role?
C is correct. Bupropion affects norepinephrine and dopamine; MAOIs such as phenelzine increase monoamine activity, and FDA labeling contraindicates co-use because of hypertensive reactions. D is tempting because patch plus bupropion can be evidence-based, but it misses the interaction. B is a dose-adjustment trap: changing the regimen is outside CTCS scope and does not resolve the contraindication. A is tempting because varenicline is first-line, but initiating or switching medication requires an authorized clinician. The CTCS role is to educate, clarify/escalate, document, and continue counseling.

The guided drills were the difference. I stopped re-reading notes and started doing timed sets. My scores jumped in two weeks.
The explanations are crisp and the pacing is perfect. I used the active recall prompts every night and it stuck.
I loved the frameworks and examples. Prioritization became obvious, and the drills fixed my weak spots fast.
