The program criteria require documented exposure, documented injury, and supervisory review for causation questions. What is the reviewer’s most appropriate action?
Option A is correct because the support role is to capture documented facts, apply stated workflow rules, and escalate reserved causation issues. Option A overreaches by treating incomplete criteria as final eligibility. Option C gives legal advice and converts a medical note into a legal conclusion. Option D also overreaches by making a final exclusion rather than following the stated escalation trigger. Reviewers should distinguish objective evidence from inference and preserve defensible documentation for attorney, clinician, or program-lead review.
