We are MedExPrep, operated by CarePath Education, LLC, and we appreciate your trust in our products and services. In order to provide you with the best study materials for your healthcare licensing and certification exams, we collect certain personal information. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) outlines how we collect, use, share, and protect that information.

This Privacy Policy applies to all information collected by MedExPrep, operated by CarePath Education, LLC, through the MedExPrep.com website (the “Site”), our mobile applications, and any related services, tools, or features we provide. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to the terms of this Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this Policy, please do not use the Site.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal information is handled in a safe and responsible manner. This Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have regarding your information. We are the sole owners of the information collected on the Site. We only have access to and collect information that you voluntarily give us via email, account registration, or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

We will never share your email address or contact information with third parties for their own marketing purposes without your explicit consent.

In some cases, we may need to verify your identity before processing your request. We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the Site, your information is protected both online and offline.

Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the web page.

While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers and servers on which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

We employ industry-standard security measures including, but not limited to, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, regular security audits, and data encryption at rest and in transit. Despite our efforts, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Children’s Privacy

The Site is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under the age of 13, we will take steps to delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that we may have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at support@medexprep.com so that we can take appropriate action.

If you are between the ages of 13 and 18, you may use the Site only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian. We encourage parents and guardians to monitor their children’s internet usage and to help enforce this Policy by instructing their children to never provide personal information on the Site without their permission.

The Site may contain links to other websites that are not operated or controlled by CarePath Education, LLC. This Policy applies only to information collected by the Site. We have no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit before providing any personal information.

The inclusion of any link on the Site does not imply endorsement by CarePath Education, LLC of the linked website or its content. You access third-party websites at your own risk and subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

If you are a California resident, you have certain rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). These rights include:

9. Do Not Track

Some web browsers have a “Do Not Track” (DNT) feature that sends a signal to websites you visit indicating that you do not want to be tracked. There is currently no universally accepted standard for how companies should respond to DNT signals. At this time, the Site does not respond to DNT signals. However, you can control tracking through your browser settings and by managing your cookie preferences as described in Section 10 of this Policy.

We will continue to monitor developments around DNT standards and may update our practices in the future as industry standards evolve.

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on the Site and to hold certain information. Cookies are small data files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. In general, we retain your account information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter in case you decide to reactivate your account. We retain transactional information for a minimum of seven (7) years to comply with tax and financial reporting obligations.

When your personal information is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was collected, we will securely delete or anonymize it. If deletion is not possible (for example, because the information has been stored in backup archives), we will securely store your information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

If you are accessing the Site from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located and our central database is operated. The data protection and privacy laws of the United States may not be as comprehensive as those in your country of residence.

By using the Site, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and acknowledge that your information may be subject to access by law enforcement and other government entities in the United States, including courts and tribunals, in accordance with applicable laws.

We believe in permission-based marketing. We will only send you marketing communications if you have explicitly opted in to receive them. You may opt in to marketing communications during the account registration process, through your account settings, or by contacting us directly.

Your opt-in consent is entirely voluntary and will not affect your ability to use the Site or access our services. You may withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in any marketing email, updating your communication preferences in your account settings, or by contacting us at support@medexprep.com.
